Boards
The Boards tab displays a list of all of the boards that have been created in your Jira instance. It also displays the admin of each board and the project it is linked to. This is another area that grows out of control quickly because each users can create several boards for various purposes. For example, the main project board is generated by Jira. However, the project team may desire to have a board that displays cross-project information or display issues that are specific to their team.
IMPORTANT NOTE: The list of boards on this tab only displays boards that the Jira Administrator has access to. While the default is that Jira Administrators should have access to all boards for better support for the project, there are times when projects are more sensitive in nature and thus, are locked down tighter than the native permissions (ex. Security or HR projects).
